Attendance Works!

We at Ellicott Elementary School are committed to providing your child with the best education! In order to make this happen, they have to be present. Research shows that ”students with better attendance in K-1 are more likely to be reading on grade level in 3rd grade” (Colorado Department of Education, 2024). Reading is the foundation of all other subjects. Being late to school may lead to poor attendance and students are still missing important information and conversations even when they miss part of a day. Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. If you are having trouble getting your child to school, please reach out to our School Counselor and learn what supports are available based on your needs. 

• Please contact the front office by 9:00am if your student will be late or absent. 

• Unexcused tardy and absent messages will be sent out at 10:00am if your child is not present at school. 

**ATTENTION** Not only will your student’s academics soar from being present, this year students will have the opportunity to win special classroom parties/outings for the classes with top attendance! (Individual recognition too!)

Kiss N’ Go:

Our doors will open at 7:30-8am and our Kiss N’ Go begins at 7:30 am. Parents are highly encouraged to drop off their children in the parking lot area beginning at 7:30am. The parking lot will have several friendly staff members out there to greet you and children. This process is meant to be quick and fast, please have your students ready to exit the car. If you are later than 8am you and your students will need to come into the building to sign in. Please make sure that you are not dropping off students before 7:30 am as there is no supervision.

Afternoon Parent pick-up:

Our day ends at 3:55pm. All parent pick-up students are dismissed from their classrooms to the gym between 3:50-3:55 pm. If your student is a parent pick-up they will be waiting in the gym by grade level. The far blue gym door will open at 3:50pm. A teacher and/or para will have a sign-out sheet that you and your student/s will need to check out with. If you are needing to pick-up your student/s earlier than 3:50 pm please come into the office and sign them out.

Technology in our schools:

Currently the elementary offers classroom technology in all grade levels that is utilized in reinforcing skills that are taught in the classroom. Our grade level teachers also use the classroom technology for projects, research, and engaging learning activities. Current technology programs that are used are Lexia, Zearn, Tumble books, ect. Technology that us provided to the grade levels K-1 are equipped with iPads and 2-5th Grade are equipped with 1-1 Chromebooks:
